The engine fires straight to life and shows healthy engine temperature and oil readings — unsurprising considering that it was re-built last year with new big end bearings and was given a cylinder head skim. You could truly believe that you were at the helm of a rally car were it not for the standard and original interior such is the driving experience when pushing on. Turn-in is excellent and the car immediately goes where you point it. This is squirt-and-go driving at its best.
