I've attempted to order the OEM outer bezel from a few websites, only to be told every time that Nissan will not sell just that piece.

None of us found a shell replacement. I asked if there was a reason given as to why it was being denied. I will likely replace the console, but it will be an aftermarket, well-made product. Theoretically, for removal, you pull straight down and the clip comes out of the metal slot. A week later I called a different dealer and they were able to sell me the shell only.
