When I took it back to the dealer a few days later, I brought with me the TSB that seemed to define this problem and offered a fix by re-flashing the TCM and performing an adaptive driving maneuver. However, after driving it, the transmission tech came back and said it needed a new torque converter. I suggested trying the TSB fix since that was a 1-hr max time investment. They said nope.
