At around lunchtime today, Devon and Cornwall Police reported a coach fire had closed the A30, near Fairmile, in both directions. The fire service remained at the scene for scene safety and to prevent fuel entering water courses. This dramatic dash cam footage shows the moment a coach fuel tank explodes on the A30, as a car passes next to it on the opposite carriageway. The footage was captured by NW Photography, and you can see and hear the moment an explosion rumbles across the A Roads surrounding the area were closed due to hazardous driving conditions caused by the sheer amount of leaking fuel and thick black smoke.

The DVSA report comes as the A38 was shut near Doublebois in June when a bus caught fire and only this week, it was the A30 which had to be closed while firefighters dealt with another bus burst into flames with passengers on board between Bodmin and Launceston.

According to roads traffic and monitoring service, Inrix, there is slow traffic in the area due to the incident on the eastbound carriageway between B Bodmin Moor Services and A30 Holywell Cross.
