National Highways is reminding drivers to plan their journeys ahead of a full weekend closure as the A Missing Link scheme prepares to move to the next stage. This weekend closure will allow for National Highways to create a new site entrance off the A near to the Air Balloon roundabout. The closure work will allow for easy access for site and heavy goods vehicles making deliveries to new site offices and compound. The site has been carefully located to help keep traffic moving and congestion to a minimum during the project. During the closures, all traffic will be diverted via the A40, A46, A and A Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the closure, and Crickley Hill Country Park and National Star College will be open for business as usual. During this work, National Highways will remove existing traffic islands, create a temporary roundabout, and install a new site entrance.

As part of the works to create a new dual-carriageway at Birdlip a small section of the A and the top of Leckhampton Hill will be closed from 9pm on Friday, January 19 to 5am on Monday, January This weekend closure will allow for National Highways to create a new site entrance off the A near to the Air Balloon roundabout. From Monday, January 8, National Highways will continue to work on the A overnight in both directions between the Air Balloon roundabout and A46 Brockworth junction, which began before Christmas. This is so that it can complete the work to widen a section of carriageway which is crucial to keeping the traffic moving and minimising disruption in the second phase of construction.
