The AcceleRacers series debuted in alongside a film series of the same name and was commonly available across the US, Canada, and Europe. It consisted of four subsets Teku, Metal Maniacs, Racing Drones, and Silencerz of nine models coinciding with the teams shown in the films. Each single pack release had a ribbed blister to obscure a six digit code on base of the casting. Codes were able to be entered on the Cartoon Network website to access exclusive wallpapers and other digital movie content. Some plastic-bodied variants of this series were painted with a special anodized aluminium coat, giving them a unique metallic finish.

Acceleracers

The show takes Mattel's Hot Wheels toy cars and puts them in a ReBoot-like situation, with racing somewhat reminiscent of Tron. This is a sequel series to Highway 35 World Race. Both shows take place in California. AcceleRacers toys have been given out with Happy Meals at McDonald's during a promotion for the movie series. Peter Tezla uncovers ruins and technology during his research into the Accelerons and the Wheel of Power. After his findings, he recruits a band of human drivers which consists of the Metal Maniacs , Teku Acceleracers , and previous Highway 35 World Race characters that have to race against the evil racing drones who are working against them to acquire all of the Accelechargers and the Wheel of Power itself, and to open the gateway back to their creators, the Accelerons, in an attempt to destroy them. The Metal Maniacs are a group of muscly, wrestler-like drivers whose vehicles are a mixture of scrap metal and racing car components.
