But in a recent test run, Taylor experienced an on-track incident that left her shaken, yet undeterred, as she and her team scramble to repair her Chevy in time for the upcoming NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Chicago. The incident occurred during a test session at Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma aimed at preparing for the national event. We chatted with Taylor recently to learn more about this multitalented individual. What follows has been edited for clarity and length. I am currently in the process of remodeling it and setting up a space that will allow for race car storage, an area for content creation, and room for the ATR brand to grow. AT: I was I raced it in the Daily Driver class. I started the week running high 12s and ended up running When it was all said and done, Dad came and picked us back up, and I drove the car back to high school the following Monday. AT: My parents owned a business building production fiberglass Fords and Willys. When I was probably seven or eight, I started helping lay up fiberglass after school for fun. They would hand me a roller, and while they would work, I would help roll the bubbles out.

Really, it all started when Alex was just a few weeks old! The whole, "it's in your blood" thing? Yeah, that applies here! At the age of 15, Alex and her parents began to build her car and at 16 her and her mom took it on Drag Week , and as they say, the rest is history!! Alex's passion for the high performance automtovie industry continues to grow. Alex Taylor has been working towards a meaningful career in the automotive world, even before she knew what that might include. That was normal for me. As she progresses in the sport, she insists on continually learning and being as involved as possible on the mechanical end. I just wanted to do something. I want to know how it works and why it works, not just hop in it and drive. I just love to learn about it. Taylor could be found reviewing data on her laptop between passes, or getting the car switched over from the track setup to the street setup. Riding along gave Dennis a first-hand look at just how much Alex has learned under his tutelage over the years.
