A year-old Christian woman was caned in Aceh, a conservative Indonesian province, for selling alcohol. It was the first time someone from outside the Islamic faith has been punished there under strict religious laws. Deputy Public Prosecutor Soh Weiqi highlighted that there was pre-meditation, as Tan took a dangerous weapon to the meeting. She said the two victims, who were unarmed, suffered multiple injuries.
