In " Understanding Willow ", it was revealed that Amity's negative traits were the result of the controlling influence of her parents, namely her emotionally abusive mother, Odalia. In " Clouds on the Horizon ", Amity along with the twins try to warn their parents about the draining spell after being told about it by Hunter. This even extended to her mother Odalia, whom Amity became increasingly estranged with, to the point of attempting to attack her after she expressed her disgust at Amity dating Luz and later when it was revealed that was willingly aiding Emperor Belos' plans of genocide on the Day of Unity , which culminated in her fully cutting ties with her mother and finally freeing herself from her toxic influence. When she sees that Luz is just as upset while admitting that she does stupid things around Amity as well, Amity heads back home.
