An abusive boyfriend who killed the mother of his four children before setting their home alight was released from a hospital's mental health unit just days prior, it can be revealed. Anaru Ormond, 32, repeatedly stabbed his long-time girlfriend Siva Auvae, 31, inside their home in Kallangur, north of Brisbane , at 7pm on Saturday. Ms Auvae was able to run from her attacker for about m but died in the middle of the street. Ormond then returned to the home to set it on fire and take off on foot. A brief manhunt was launched for Ormond before he was taken to hospital for serious burns he suffered from the blaze, succumbing to the injuries on Sunday morning. Siva Auvae pictured , 31, died on Saturday after her partner Anaru Ormond repeatedly stabbed her at their home in Kallangur, north of Brisbane, before setting their house on fire. It has since been revealed that Osmond had been released from the mental health unit at Prince Charles Hospital pictured just four days prior to the incident after just a two day stay. A statement from Ormond's family revealed the year-old had been battling with numerous mental health issues including depression, agitation and sleep deprivation prior to killing Ms Auvae, the Courier Mail reported. The legal mechanism allows someone to be taken to a health facility involuntarily if they are deemed a serious risk of harming themselves. Ormond's family said he was supposed to have stayed in the unit for 'a minimum of two weeks' because he was considered an 'extreme case'. They claim that hospital staff allowed him to leave the unit after showing signs of improvement so long as he continued to take medication and returned on Monday. Osmond was taken into hospital under a Emergency Examination Authority order that deemed his mental state a risk to the health of himself and others circled, Osmond fleeing the scene. Hospital staff assured Osmond's family that he had shown signs of improvement and was allowed to leave as long as he continued to take his medication and returned on Monday. A spokeswoman for Metro North, who oversee Prince Charles Hospital, extended their condolences to those affected by the tragedy but stood by their decision to release Ormond.
