Arccos sqrt2/2
In using the Solve[] and the ArcCos[], I am getting sort-of two different answers see attached and cannot understand why. Would someone please explain to me why, in solving for Phi, I am getting different answers? C[1], C[1]? Answer Unmark, arccos sqrt2/2.

The arccos function allows the calculation of the arc cosine of a number. The arccos function is the inverse functions of the cosine function. Arccosine function The arccosine function is the inverse function of the cosine function , it calculates the arc cosine of a number online. The number on which you wish to apply the fonction arccosine function must belong to the range [-1,1]. To calculate the arccosine of a number, just enter the number and apply the arccos function. Thus, for calculating the arccosine of the number following 0. To differentiate function arccosine online, it is possible to use the derivative calculator which allows the calculation of the derivative of the arccosine function. Antiderivative calculator allows to calculate an antiderivative of arccosine function. The limit calculator allows the calculation of limits of the arccosine function.

Now you might say so, just as review, I'm giving you a value and I'm saying give me an angle that gives me, when I take the sine of that angle that gives me that value. Log in. But we just cared about the height. Don Warfield. So let me zoom up that triangle. Because I got the second result and I want to know if it's a good solution. The same logic follows for arctan and arc cos. So you would just want to know this value right here. That's a triangle.

I am having the same trouble with these problems, and as far as I'm told, yes they are equivalent, but only the negative answer is CORRECT because of the domain restriction. If you're seeing this message, it means we're having trouble loading external resources on our website. Show preview Show formatting options Post answer. This side over here is 30 degrees. All this is asking is what angle would I have to take the sine of in order to get the value square root of 2 over 2. So when you see a square root of 3 over 2, hopefully you recognize this is a 30 60 90 triangle. The y-coordinate. And what's this length right here? Ask unlimited questions and get video answers from our expert STEM educators. Clear out some space here. Hence, the domain of arcsin is between -1 and 1. I'm a little confused, isn't the cosecant just the reciprocal? My y-coordinate is minus square root of 3 over 2. Because this is a unit circle. Frank Kampas, Physicist at Large Consulting.
I think, that you are mistaken.
