It's because they use different engines, the AC1 engine used way more pixels and so it looked more textured and was brighter, the AC2 engine uses less pixels and so it has less loading times I remember AC1 taking hours loading the different cities. I was so pumped for this game, read a bunch of previews ranting about the attention to detail and great graphics, and then I actually played it.

Actually the reason I continued playing the other AC games is because the second one redeemed the first and promised future fun with Ezio. I'd give AC2 a try : A lot of my friends got hooked on with the it rather than the first one.

This is the game I've been waiting for. While the original Assassin's Creed may have been short on variety, there's no denying the quality of the visuals and the immense possibilities of the openworld sandbox it presented to us. On Xbox , at least, it was a technological marvel that laid the foundations for a sequel that takes all the coding genius of the original and combines it with a gameplay package that exceeds expectations. While Modern Warfare 2 ranks as the multiplayer game of choice for console owners, it's Assassin's Creed II that offers the most complete package for those more enamoured with traditional single-player experience. Ubisoft Montreal has done good. Assassin's Creed is a game that comes with a bit of history. Way back in Face-Off Round 6 , the PS3 version was savaged for its hugely disappointing performance, general blurriness and the feeling that its development was treated almost like an afterthought compared to the more technically solid Xbox game. Times have changed.

Are Assassin's Creed 1 graphics better than 2? Note that these are only things that AC1 does better than AC2. There are a lot of things about AC2's graphics that are better than AC1's, most notably the textures.
Sound problems. Play them both in a row on the same TV set up and the difference is obvious. AC1 looked so sharp.
