Heart and Brain features Lars' anthropomorphized heart and brain as the two main characters. In the webcomic, the heart follows its feelings and emotions, chasing down butterflies and getting excited about kittens , while the brain is concerned about adult responsibility. While the heart skips to emotional need, the brain brings in reason and logic for why the heart's action are ill-advised.

The Awkward Yeti started in , when Seluk began to publish a comic a day starring a blue yeti named Lars. Lars would sometimes talk to an anthopomorphized version of his heart and brain, and soon, Heart and Brain took on a life of their own in a spinoff strip. Funny, insightful, and relatable, Nick Seluk's comics are representative of a very specific time of the internet and webcomics, when jpegs would be shared on forums, and it felt like everyone online were reading the same handful of comics.

The comic follows Lars, a " socially awkward Yeti ," whose organs have minds of their own. It sounds weird, but after a strip or two, you'll totally get it.

My rating, however, would stay the same, as -- while I love the struggle between the characters in the comics -- some of the author's takes come across as ableist and classist. It's a great mix of funny but also loving and I must admit I'd missed this little heart and brain and loved spending the evening enjoying their little world. Meg thyme. The characters and the significance of the brain and heart make a wonderful dynamic pair. The illustrations are kept simple but they work very well. Everything is going to be great….
