Bannerlord best infantry
Unit balancing has always been a focus for the TaleWorlds team, and the meta units have changed since the early days. Some you may be familiar with from Early Access, and some you may be surprised to see. We have a few newcomers to the list that will help you in taking down enemy armies with ease. After reading through our list and composing your army with the best infantry in Bannerlord, but also some of the best cavalry and marksman in the game, you'll be worthy of holding the Dragon Banner and conquering all of Calradia. Now go forth and become the true Bannerlord. Throughout the changes , the Imperial Legionary has remained one of the most versatile infantry units in the game. These heavily-armored Tier Five troops of the Empire boast some of the best armor-to-weight ratio stats of any other heavy unit in the game. This means they sponge damage and act as a very flexible front line. With the buffs to Javelins, the Legionary's Pila is also a formidable weapon. It was always pretty good anyway, but with the bonus damage to shields for thrown weapons, the Pila is even better.
Not because training this unit all the way to Tier Six bannerlord best infantry a walk in the park, but because Aserai villages are full of Aserai Youths that want to find adventure in foreign lands. Updated March 29, by Nathan Dawber: With Bannerlord being out for some time now, players have gained plenty of combat experience in the world of Calradia, forming kingdoms, conquering the map, and forging a dynasty that will last a thousand years. Unlike their Jawwal Bedouin cousins , Ghulam units have decent armor and can usually take a couple of hits before going down. Their weakness is their offensive stats — with only Polearm skill and 90 One-Handed skill, and some pretty average weaponry, their killing power is rather lackluster compared to other tier 4 mounted units. If looking for a solid anti-cavalry unit, the Sturgian Heavy Spearman is one of the better choices. They wield a steel spear , which can be braced to deal devastating damage to incoming charges.
I've played Bannerlord for numerous hours, and I can state with certainty that the Aserai infantry unit is one of my personal favourites. Seeing them charge madly into enemy lines with swords blazing and cause mayhem in their wake is simply so wonderful. It's especially astonishing how swiftly they can move across the battlefield. I've discovered that their speed and agility make them good at flanking opponent troops and catching them off guard. Yet, because of their low armour, they are more exposed to opposing strikes. They are less successful at maintaining a position than certain other infantry units, making them a poor choice in defensive battle situations. But, the Aserai Footman is unquestionably a viable option if you're seeking a quick-paced, aggressive playstyle. Overall, if you value speed and mobility in your infantry forces, I heartily suggest the Aserai infantry unit. Initially, make use of their speed to your advantage and concentrate on flanking enemy forces and making surprise attacks. Combine them with ranged troops for maximum impact and be sure to try various formations and strategies, such as shield walls or wedge formations, to see which one best suits your playstyle.

The swinging attacks of the voulge also make this weapon perfect for fighting from a safe distance against almost all one-handed fighters. They're also faster compared to cavalry units of a similar type in other factions. I tend to "auto-resolve" many many many many many battles after my first 20 or so. Using it is entirely preferential. You need mixed arms. The fact is that melee cav under performs compared to every other type of unit because of how terrible cav AI is. Making it funny, they also have one of the best anti-cavalry infantry units. This unit suffers in its close one-handed combat abilities. You can see that by the stats. Unlike their Jawwal Bedouin cousins , Ghulam units have decent armor and can usually take a couple of hits before going down. The Legionary has decent one-handed and pole-arm weapons and skills, along with relatively good armor to keep them up in battle. The Elite Menavliation also performs well in combat with other infantry, something many anti-cavalry units struggle with. Now go forth and become the true Bannerlord. The competition between the Vlandian Sharpshooter and Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman has raged over the past year as various patches change up unit equipment. However, they're also difficult to acquire: these are the final form of the Khuzait's rare noble unit line.
In combat, I've used Vlandian Sergeants to hold the line while archers shoot from behind, successfully forming a defensive wall that adversaries find impossible to breach. Some players have even utilized them to charge into opposing lines to break formations and cause chaos.
The Strugian Heroic Linebreaker is the ultimate front-line vanguard unit and truly lives up to its name. Being Palace guards, these units do excel in defending walls in the cramped fighting space. Well-armored, and more than capable of defending themselves in combat, the Imperial Sergeant Crossbowman is an ideal unit for field battles. While they don't have the same ranged flexibility as other units' Javelins or Pila, the Voulgier does come equipped with a short-range throwing axe. Having such a strong archer line in the back requires your infantry in the front keeping the enemy away. No single unit army works. The Elite Menavliation also performs well in combat with other infantry, something many anti-cavalry units struggle with. And single type armies work even worse in that scenario. Using it is entirely preferential. Having enough of the right units within your infantry is crucial to making sure you win each battle. Early into your campaign, Elite Mercenary Macemen can greatly increase your power should you have the gold to afford them. However, they are much, much easier to acquire. The fact is that infantry have better stats, cost, and equipment compared to non-noble cavalry of the same tier.
