I initially only wanted to collect the pastel asian one ie: barbie number 2, and she was the aforementioned wonky eyed doll that I receievd from Amazon. After scouring all the local Warehouses for my perfect asian barbie, I couldn't resist also getting barbie 3 and barbie 5. If you're a picky collector like myself, I would highly recommend buying these in person because the defect rate was not pretty. I would daresay it's not nearly as bad and offensive as with MGA dolls, but there were plenty of issues with wonky asymmetrical eyes and poorly rooted hair with bald spots right at the front etc. I'm not sure why this is? Is this because of the method the face paint was applied? Some of the Barbie BMR dolls have slightly more pixelated faces, but maybe this is why the rate of the dreaded wonky eyes was much lower? Or did they just have better quality control because of their higher price tag? My favourite is definitely the freckled ginger boy. Barbie's wider range of diversity asian barbies!!! Anyway, the Barbie Extra line will be getting a series 2 so I'll be sure to add some of those to my doll collection too especially the two with the long brown and liliac hair.
