I was with my friend, watercolor artist Veronique Branger, who had a couple of pieces in the show. We noticed room on the benches that border the front perimeter of the outdoor space, and asked if we could have dinner there. So we were seated at one of the casual wood-planked benches with cushions and a white marble-topped low table set with candles. The outdoor garden space is lushly surrounded by fichus trees strung with white lights, and palo verde trees hung with basket-covered lights. The space is anchored by the bar, a low modernist-era building that opens entirely on one side to the garden, like a large covered patio. While there is seating at the bar and a few dining tables inside, most of the seating is outdoors in the garden facing North Palm Canyon Drive and tucked alongside the building. Tagged as a pizza and cocktails kitchen, the customized wood fire oven delivers cheesy perfection from 5pm in a cheery outdoor dining space and architectural glass-enclosed eatery with outdoor bar. A simple one-page menu offers a collection of four signature salads including a Tricolore Chopped with arugula and fried garlic with aged Parmesan or Di Stefano Burrata with cherry tomatoes and English cucumbers. Pizzas can be custom ordered with toppings like mushrooms, smoked mozzarella, prosciutto and homemade sausage in personal-sized presentations. Otherwise tuck into one of the white pizzas with Gorgonzola and potato or prosciutto and arugula also available in gluten-free versions.

One of the best Palm Springs has to offer. Food, ambiance, staff, drinks are all on point. We locals get cold when the temp drops under 80 and they have comfy smoks to keep you warm. Always an enjoyable experience at Birba! Very nice setting. The drinks were excellent. The service was great.
