The Blood Altar is a block added by the Blood Magic mod. The central feature used to transmute items, generate Life Essence and to transfer life essence into a Soul Network. It has an internal buffer of 10, LP and single inventory slot. Items can be placed in the altar by Right-clicking it. It can be filled with life essence several ways, the most basic of which is the Sacrificial Orb [1]. To transmute an item in the Altar, it must contain the right item, be of the correct tier or greater and have some life essence in its buffer. While it is operating, the Altar emits red particles if particles effect option is on.

This page is intended to be a guide to the mechanics of Blood Magic. This will cover most of the main aspects of the mod, and how to progress through the tiers that it offers. The first item to make to begin on this journey of magic, is the Blood Altar. This is where Blood Infusion occurs; a process that infuses items placed in the Altar with blood in the form of Life Essence LP for short obtained from self-sacrifice or from mobs. It is recommended to place the altar in an area with sufficient space, as upgrading the altar through the multiple tiered structures, will involve expansion of the altar with Runes as the Player progresses on his or her quest. The Sacrificial Orb is another item needed to begin Blood Magic. The Player can use the Orb to transfer a heart of their health into the Blood Altar, filling the altar with LP per heart. Keep Right-clicking while within one block of the altar with the Sacrificial Orb in hand to use it make sure to be near enough for the transfer to take place. Meanwhile keep making small sacrifices to fill the Altar with enough LP to start making the items needed to progress. By now the altar should have gained a fair amount of LP, shown by a small pool of red liquid at the bottom. With enough blood essence accumulated in the Altar to start a transmutation process, Right-click the Blood Altar with a Diamond to place it, displaying it floating above the altar since it doesn't have a GUI. To pull items out of the altar, Right-click it with an empty hand. Red particles will start dispersing from the Diamond as it slowly absorbs the essence. To complete this process, the altar will dispense 2, LP to the Diamond.

Cost Enhancements.

The Blood Altar is a block added by Blood Magic. It is used to transmute various items using Life Essence LP. The Blood Altar has an internal storage buffer of 1, LP that must be filled before crafting can occur. The altar can be expanded into a multiblock structure in order to access more powerful tiers of transmutation. Currently there are six tiers of Blood Altars, although only 5 of them can be made in survival mode since there is no way by default to craft the Crystal Clusters needed for the last tier. Some packs allow Crystal Clusters to be crafted using custom recipes with a config option enabling the recipes.
