I keep seeing people saying "Trigger one" and I keep trying but once one takes off running the other follows directly behind it. The Nightmare Frontier is an optional secret area in Bloodborne that requires both a special item, and being in the right place at the wrong time. To get to the Nightmare Frontier, you must first acquire the Tonsil Stone. The earliest you can find it is in the Forbidden Woods. When you arrive at the first small village in the woods with the spiked log trap at the entrance head left and go up the hill to a shack with a lighted lantern. The voice inside will offer some advice, and tell you to go to the shrouded chapel to the right of the Great Cathedral.
Although the Tonitrus is a better weapon choice, I recommend using the Saw Cleaver. The reason is this area can be fairly long and there is no way to repair your weapon unless you return to the Hunter's Dream. The Tonitrus has lower durability so save it for the later section. From the Chapel, head up towards Vicar Amelia's boss room and take the right hand side now, opposite of where we went to get to the Forbidden Woods. Ignore Eileen for now if you spot her as we don't want to advance her quest yet. Make your way down here until you spot a building you can land on with a few Crows on it. Down the right hand side is a Scurrying Beast so plunge attack it for its materials.

The Nightmare of Mensis is one of the final areas in the game that can only be reached through the second floor of the Lecture Building, after defeating The One Reborn in Yahar'gul Chapel. As you enter the building, make sure to light the lantern. This place may look familiar if you traveled through the first floor on your way to The Nightmare Frontier. On the second floor, there's more creatures to deal with, starting with Mutated Students who roam the halls above the first floor.

Winter Lantern. You can use the same techniques as before, just make sure you wait for the animation of the explosion to stop before running in. At the bottom of the path you can follow a series of collapsed tombstones downwards to reach the bridge that leads across to the boss room. Don't feel too hard done by, you'll get your chance at revenge. Then we can spank the hunters.
You'll wake up in a poorly-lit side room that contains nothing but lamp, so light it, then head through the door on the left. Directly opposite you is another door, if you interact with it you'll get some delightful dialogue from Patches The Spider.
If you get near a leg, she can stomp it down but this is easy to dodge. If you are spotted by one, beat her down while being careful to avoid her grab, as your frenzy will continue to increase while her lengthy grab animation plays out, generally spelling doom. As you enter, a Mutated Student will drop down, and pin you to the ground if it lands on you, covering you with disgusting and damaging goo. Fading Lake 1. I found and beat the boss. As you would've guessed, Patches is no bueno in any Formsoft game, and just as he did in Dark Souls, he'll lure you in with shiny loot and throw you over the cliff in an edgy cutscene. You'll need to kill both throwers to traverse this area in peace, and attacking one will trigger the other to start throwing rocks. The small island in the middle can only be accessed from the side closest to the cave entrance, so try to stick to the mainland as much as possible before cutting across the swamp to reach it. Is there something I should have, or what because I'm at level 80 , and just got here. Antidote x4. I've heard that raising the Wooden Shield can block their frenzy-inducing gaze, but I haven't tested that, so I can neither confirm nor deny. Because of the amount of overhangs and hard-to-reach areas, you need to listen carefully for the sounds of the many Wandering Nightmare enemies; they will normally detect you long before you can see them here.
