Things you buy through our links may earn Vox Media a commission. He convinces them to take it on by arguing that Terry undervalues their accomplishments, which include catching a janitor stealing evidence by sleeping under their desks and suing the department to get everyone triple-ply toilet paper. But it turns out the case is bigger than Jake realizes, and Hitchcock gets kidnapped by drug dealers while trying to go undercover, which leads to the rest of the group getting pistol-whipped and captured as well. Their best trait is, unquestionably, their ride-or-die devotion to each other, but it comes off as more creepy than cute in this installment, considering that Hitchcock never wants Scully to be alone aww , so he suggests he marry his wife if he dies yuck by becoming blood brothers via an existing open wound on his hand what? The episode ends with the other characters congratulating themselves on finding a way to keep them deskbound again, which, while things needed to return to the status quo, kind of defeats the purpose of a once-a-season effort to flesh out minor characters.

John William Weichselbraun is an incarcerated world-famous oboist who used to play first chair in the New York Symphony Orchestra. It should be mentioned, however, that the orchestra no longer exists. In House Mouses , Capt. Raymond Holt admits that he is a fan of Weichselbraun; a so-called Weichselbrauniac. At a concert at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where Weichselbraun performed Oboe Sonata in G-Minor , Raymond, who was sitting front-row, had to be escorted out for gasping too loud. Later, Weichselbraun reported a robbery in which his oboe would have been stolen. Charles later discovered that, in fact, Weichselbraun was trying to sell the oboe and faked the robbery, gaining both money from insurance and from the buyer. Weichselbraun was later arrested for insurance fraud. Brooklyn Nine-Nine Wiki Explore. Detective Skills.

They end up duct taped to office chairs in a back room somewhere, and Terry gets mad at Jake for taking the house mouses out of their houses. And for their efforts, Scully and Hitchcock get brand new cushy office chairs, which Terry hopes will encourage them never to leave the office again. But this episode changed my opinion on that, because it was fun to watch these two detectives actually get out and do some detecting. They were both so earnestly invested in the case, and even though their methods were clearly going to get them killed without some intervention on the part of Terry and Jake, Scully and Hitchcock took on the case without fear and with quite a lot of gusto. They also managed to make Jake look pretty wise in comparison, which is not a bad thing to show once in a while.
The show is about the fictional 99th precinct in Brooklyn, NY, and the group of oddball police officers who work there, including two with a fondness for classical music. But going against trope, Scully also sings opera. The other fan of classical music is Raymond Holt Andre Braugher , the respected captain of the precinct who has slowly risen up the ranks of the NYPD despite facing harassment as a black, openly gay man. Holt makes himself the primary detective on the case, and when he has the opportunity to interview the oboist, he fawns. I was in the front row. The reaction? Leifgrum seems to be a made-up name, while some references to classical music in the show are not fully researched. That can create moments that are simultaneously really funny and, for those steeped in the world of classical music, grounding: a reminder of how small that community really is, and how that music is perceived by the vast majority of people. The show revolves around the detective squad of the fictional 99th Precinct of the New York Police Department , located in Brooklyn. At the beginning of the series, Peralta is portrayed as an exceptional detective but very immature, engaging in pranks and making childish jokes at the expense of his colleagues. He is fun-loving and sarcastic and is often motivated by his emotions. Despite his goofiness, Peralta is smart, perceptive, and quick thinking, and as such has the best arrest rate in the precinct. Jake's father, Roger Peralta, an airline pilot , abandoned the family during Jake's childhood.
