A woman has died after a fatal car accident in Sydney's upscale Northern Beaches during heavy thunderstorms across the city on Monday afternoon. A two-vehicle crash in Sydney's upscale Northern Beaches area has left a woman dead, bringing New South Wales' road toll to more than four dozen for the year. Reports were made of two SUVs having collided into each other in the suburb of Narrabeen about 4. Emergency services arrived at the crash site on Wakehurst Parkway to find the cars had smashed head-on and were badly damaged. Paramedics attempted to revive her through CPR but she was unable to be resuscitated and was declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile the driver of the second car, a year-old man, escaped injury but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into circumstances surrounding the incident.
