Helps to jump-start most 12V vehicles without the need for another vehicle. Crappy quality.. I would've expected better quality from a brand name like Caterpillar, but it's a good thing Costco has a good return policy in cases like this. My dad has been through 5 of these and it's a headache. They are terrible and was also purchased at Costco. We work in the car biz and need to jump cars all the time. This is a terrible jumper. I'm surprised your dad went through 5 of these.

Can't speak to the longevity of the battery life as I've charged it between uses. I've struggled to find a use. I think this would turn your run of the mill GAS powered vehicle. Even tho I kept them charged once every 30 days like mentioned. John's, NL. CAT will licence their name out to anything these days. Saw this at St. Those small compact units suuuuuck in my experience. Is that enough. You want to keep in your car as a back up but it has to be charged. I like the concept. I still have it although it sometimes randomly turns the LED light on all the time. Returning CAT to Costco.
