Smooth, fast, and easy to handle. Top notch. I love it, it's like they went through the previous generation and found everything that could possibly be wrong, cbr 600 2008, and made it a million percent better. I couldn't imagine owning a different small four at this time.
It steers so well, you can really flick the motorcycle around and there so much feedback from the front tyre you can carry loads of brake into the turn. You really notice the extra drive out of slow to medium corners. At the top end Honda have only managed to strain a few more bhp, that should bring it up to speed with the competition. Even slightly tuned, poorly maintained race motors seem to last, even when they are thrashed week in and week out. But out of all the cc supersports motorcycles the Honda CBRRR always seems to hold its money and due to the high standard of components and general build quality.

A lighter crank and lighter con-rods means lighter — and smaller — everything else, so the entire package — capped off with ounce lighter magnesium valve covers — measures up as The clutch is lighter, smaller and stronger, and the transmission gets closer ratios and a redesign to reduce driveline lash. The airbox — which now sucks air through a hole in the front of the frame like the RC — gains seven percent of additional capacity, and the radiator is 40mm narrower, but The exhaust now has titanium baffles; they could have put that bling-bling on display like some OEMs do, but they put it inside where it would do the most good. Suspension and brakes are standard, if effective, fare. In front, a fully-adjustable except for high-speed settings 41mm inverted fork and four-piston radial-mount calipers get the job done, although Toland said the new braking components offer more sensitivity and in the rear the Honda Unit Pro-Link is bolted to the three-way-adjustable shock. The Unit Pro Link shock linkage is GP-tech for the street; it isolates the suspension almost totally from the frame to ensure the smoothest possible ride. With a team of Honda technicians on hand to ensure a perfect set-up, the suspension felt spot-on, even though they misunderestimated my weight by 20 pounds. Although the track is very smooth, there are some pavement ripples in one high-speed braking zone thanks, Grand Am cars! Serious sportbike pilots have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the potent new CBRRR, and now the industry experts have confirmed this incredible machine was well worth the wait. And neither does performance.
Longer highway rides are not as comfortable, as are most sport bikes, but Im adding Helibars to aid in that deparment. Brakes are decent enough and it is probably being a bit picky but the front ones lack a bit of bite for a bike of its power. Generic Type Primary, cbr 600 2008.
It carried the Supersport World Championship winning streak into , and on through , and won in and In the past Honda has always developed a roadbike, then modified it for racing. But with the RR, we first built a prototype racer, then gave it to the production department. Honda said that the use of its new 'Hollow Fine Die Cast' frame technology, in which sand casting molds were given a ceramic interior coating, made it possible to reduce the thickness of the five-piece aluminum frame from 3. The model carried over to technically unchanged, with only the addition of an oxygen sensor. In , the CBRRR received a major revision with new bodywork, fully adjustable inverted front forks, disc brakes with radial-mounted four-piston calipers, and a new aluminum frame, swingarm and rear shock. The midrange power was also increased.

I tried the Yamaha R6 from a friend and let me tell u, I wouldn't trade him for my rr even if he added cash to sweetend the deal. As with cars, u can never go wrong with Honda!

The Honda CBRR middleweight supersports screamer was given subtle tweaks for , designed to give it more mid-range oomph and a smoother power delivery. New pistons, cylinder head and exhaust system bolstered torque between ,rpm, which made the engine more flexible on the road. Luckily for us, this was done without sacrificing any top-end power. The big news, though, was the optional electronically-controlled Combined ABS system, which was a world-first for a supersports machine. A new-style bellypan covered the whole engine and the C-ABS valve unit for the front brake. There was a major update to this bike in , although it didn't look like it from the outside. The frame was been lightened in areas away from the centre of gravity thanks to feedback from racing teams around the world and combined with new lightweight cast aluminium wheels which had the same spoke design as the Honda Fireblade superbike. The distinctive new design of front lights and front fairing was directly inspired by the look of the MotoGP Honda RCVV race bike, with the lights deliberately buried in the fairing to move the weight back. The aerodynamic gains were 6. Engine upgrades included new fuel injection mapping - the twin fuel injectors alternated between single and twin operation, along with an Intake Air Control Valve which stabilised rpm when idling, and covered all rev ranges for the first time.

The variable steering damper allows amazing control even under hard breaking. Other changes included updates to the engine such as changes to its pistons, cylinder head and exhaust that Honda claims will increase torque delivery between 8,—12, rpm with a 3. As long as you're sensible, it could probably be your first "big" bike and you can grow into it rather than buy a modern twin that sounds like a sit on lawn mower and get bored in 6 weeks. Riding position is spot on. The midrange power was also increased. Okay, so that's not the way we really decide Bike of the Year, but with the final tallies close enough to throw a postage-stamp-sized blanket over, we may as well have saved a lot of work and trouble by picking the winner with a coin toss. The handling is sharp and the steering damper is first class, suspension firm but it gives you great confidence in the bends and the riding position is good for a sports bike and much better than any other sports bike I have ridden. Single mm disc 1 piston caliper. I don't think anyone buys a sports bike with a view to modest running costs and if anyone is considering it that way should probably buy a different type of bike. Handles very nicely and is very fast. I ride it every day come rain or shine. Anything more than 3 years old and it seems dealers aren't interested, regardless of the state of your bike.

By I am an Owner on Sep 16, Retrieved July 21, Stability is on-par with the Honda and suspension is plush enough to soak up small bumps while stiff enough to absorb Buttonwillow's ever-increasing number of big hits. As we've written in countless tests about the tiny CBR, its stellar chassis offers rock-solid stability combined with laser-quick steering. Article Talk. Value vs rivals 4 out of 5. Believe me nothing comes close, the bike is awesome. Absolutely cracking bike. VFR Interceptor. VTC Shadow. Rear Tire Full Spec. VTCX Fury. VF Magna. I ride it every day come rain or shine.
