Monster Hunter Rise has 14 weapons, and each comes with its own style, moves, and uses. The weapon you pick will drastically change how you play the game and engage with each monster. You could love Monster Hunter Rise while using the hammer and hate it using the dual blades. Some players use every weapon, while others fall in love and stick with one. There are a few ways to test weapons. Pick a weapon that sounds interesting, and use it against the dummy in the training area. Try out their combos, and then grab a new weapon from the box.

On a whim I made the Diablos cb here and watched a couple tutorial videos. With Gs, you make a few, big attacks and just wait for the right opportunity. CB seems so involved, like you need to constantly be attacking and exploiting ALL openings, not just the big ones. Keeping up all three charges while not burning through potions is a huge adjustment.

Hit and run isn't that bad with Great Sword when you can deal up to points of damage on a single normal hit. Sticky is safer but also slower and deals significantly less damage. Some weapons can also be used to mitigate or outright avoid damage.
