She worked in administration for Santa Fe Railroad before working in administration for the Office of the Provost at the University of Kansas until she retired. I am passionate about advancing innovative and engaging initiatives that progress equitable and inclusive connections and outcomes in higher education, nonprofits, and business. In my current work, I help advance a portfolio of university-wide experimental academic courses at Georgetown's Red House, an educational research and design unit leading values-driven learning design centered on high-impact practices by flexing time, space, costs, and by applying the most effective capacities of emerging digital tools. My career impact in higher education, public service, and community engagements have advanced global academic programs, strategic partnerships, research collaborations, service-learning, community connections, and instructional design support of on-campus, virtual, and hybrid learning environments. I also earned a graduate certificate in nonprofit executive management at the McCourt School of Public Policy. Much of my graduate research and studies have focused on embodied cognition, creativity, and culturally sustaining asset-based anti-racist approaches to learning design. My journey as a mother, scholar, academic manager, and learning designer has also been inspired by Dr. My lived experience as an immigrant and the resiliency required in early years has also propelled a passion to help advance more transparent, trauma-informed, and equitable ecosystems that foster agency and healing for all learners. Creating spaces for co-constructed learning that fosters liberation and holistic growth has been a key goal of my professional practice. Every visit offers new inspiration. I am a mother, Latina with indigenous roots Lenca , immigrant, first-gen scholar, learning designer, educational technologist, researcher, and overall enthusiast of inclusive and holistic learning design and practices that engender creativity, equity, and justice. I appreciate learning about the cognitive journey of human resiliency and enjoy collaborating to foster creativity and agency in learners across ecosystems. My professional work, research, and personal pursuits have focused on a practice aiming for wholeness, harmony, advancing social justice through design of more equitable approaches and systems that value human dignity.
