With the information collected, we will be able to understand what is a healthy heart, why some people develop heart disease when they appear otherwise healthy, and how we can identify the initial signs of heart disease, before they occur. Areas of Information Collected.

Basic research in this program focuses on the study of biomarkers, histopathology, genetics, translational genomics and genetic epidemiology. Biomedical and clinical research is conducted in the domains of biodesign, health technology, regenerative medicine and information technology, with observational cardiovascular studies and clinical trials completed or underway.
