Very early into Elden Ring , I kept seeing these random, cracked, conspicuous-as-hell statues with a blue light. And 50 hours in, I finally know how to break them open. Backing up a step, there are many different types of statues in this game, some of which you can directly interact with. I mean the statues that are partially sliced open, and often embedded in the ground or toppled over. Like this one! Instead, you need to use a big boy. In fact, on a return visit, the a-ha moment happened organically: a giant just casually strolled through it on his way to my character, and the cracked statue exploded, revealing a shiny item.

Unlike earlier games with similar mechanics, in Elden Ring , you will need the help of a not-so-friendly entity in the environment around you to break open these statues. Depending on the region you find these statues in, there are different enemies that can do the job. Reliably so, the bigger the enemy, the better your chances are to break them.

Just shield up behind the cracked statues so you dont get hurt after luring a big enemy to it. You must attract a large enemy to break them, for example the largest bears or the trolls.
