The CTSI transforms the approach to education and training that is required to accelerate the pace of discoveries in the life sciences and the rapid translation of these discoveries into clinical practice. American Board of Pediatrics The mission of the American Board of Pediatrics ABP is to promote high quality health care during infancy, childhood, adolescence, and the transition into adulthood through assuring that the general pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist has successfully completed accredited training and fulfills the continuous evaluation requirements that encompass the six core competencies: patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice. A special agreement exists with the ABP and the ABIM where an applicant may fulfill the training requirements of both the ABP and the ABIM by completing 2 years of accredited training in general comprehensive pediatrics and 2 years of accredited training in general comprehensive internal medicine in an integrated program.
