Our ancient foe has returned to reclaim the lands we took from them. And this time, cyrodil, Cyrodil people stand alone.
Cyrodiil is the center of player versus player content where members of each alliance vie for control over keeps , milegates, bridges, mines, mills, farms, towns and temples that each contribute to control over the province. The Alliance War in Cyrodiil is centralized around seizing, holding and controlling strongholds and their resources, utilizing siege weapons , taking powerful Elder Scrolls , and crowning an Emperor for the respective Alliance. Cyrodiil is accessible after reaching level 10, [3] where one of multiple Campaigns, each acting as different instances with different parameters, can be joined. Unlike other zones, Cyrodiil does not feature any wayshrines beyond the safe zones of each alliance. Instead, keeps, outposts and towns have Transitus Shrines that can only be traveled to from another connected Transitus Shrine.
Cyrodil
Cyrodiil is the central province of Tamriel and home of the Imperials , who stand alone in the Alliance War. It can be accessed once a player receives the Cyrodiil Awaits! Despite the name, the zone encompasses only the central part of the actual province. Cyrodiil's geography is mostly low-lands and forests, with mountains around its borders. The central Heartlands is the area around the Imperial City ; the island is almost wholly used for the city while the land to the east is used for farming. The Nibenay Valley to the south is too small to have its own unique geological features; it is a mix of the Great Forest to the north and west of the Heartlands, and the Nibenay Basin 's plains to the east of the Heartlands. The Jerall Mountains form the border with Skyrim to the north. Politically, the region is in flux, with armies of the three Alliances continually fighting over strategic positions. Nominally however, northwestern Cyrodiil is considered Daggerfall Territory , northeastern Cyrodiil is considered Ebonheart Territory , and southwestern Cyrodiil is considered Aldmeri Territory. Remnants of the Imperial Legion still control parts of the Imperial City, and legionaries can be found in small military camps all across the region. At this time of war between the alliances, Molag Bal is also attempting to pull Nirn into Coldharbour with the use of huge Dark Anchors attached to Tamriel, a number of which are found in Cyrodiil. The largest of these is located over the Imperial City.

Cyrodiil , also known as the Imperial Province , Dragon Empire , Starry Heart of Nirn , and Seat of Sundered Kings , [1] [2] and Cyrod in Ayleidoon , [3] [4] is a province in the south-central region of Tamriel , and the home of a humanoid race known as Imperials. The center of their Empire and seat of governance, Cyrodiil is also known as "the Heartland". The capital of Cyrodiil, and of the whole empire, the Imperial City , is located on City Isle in the center of the province, which bears the location of White-Gold Tower , possibly the most renowned monument of Tamriel. Despite some accounts describing Cyrodiil as a jungle, [5] it primarily has a temperate climate. When the Aldmeri landed in the Summerset Isles , they did not move far inland, but told of ancient beasts before men or mer. Unfortunately, oral tradition only gives unclear glimpses of what they may have looked like. One account describes the ancient inhabitants of City Isle as a race of Bird Men.

Upon character creation you have to choose your faction, which is usually determined by your race. Additionally, there is also the Imperial race available on top of the other 9 races with the Digital Imperial Edition Upgrade for Crowns, granting you access to play as Imperial that can be played in any alliance.
