Cyttorak

Cyttorak is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. A mystical entity, he is the deity that powers Juggernaut through cyttorak artifact known as Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. He took up residence in a dimension known as the Crimson Cosmos, cyttorak, where time did not pass.

Cyttorak also known the Destroyer , Lord of Oblivion, and Master of the Raging Storm, [2] is an immensely powerful extra-dimensional being hailing from the Crimson Cosmos. He was worshiped as a God and a Demon by the primitive humans of Earth. This lasted until he was banished to his home dimension. Each being would use a magical artifact to create avatars out of the first human to touch it. Once one human had been transformed, others would be drawn to the remaining artifacts. These humans, called Exemplars , would conquer humanity and fight each other to the death until only one was left standing.

Cyttorak is one of principalities - magical entities of endless mystical powers. His origin is shrouded in mystery. Once he was worshiped on Earth, and by unknown circumstances was banished to outer-dimension known as Crimson Cosmos, within the Omniverse. Cyttorak is stated by marvel to be an old abstract magical entity from several millenia to several billions of years old. He appears in one of his 2 known aspects. First aspect is a God-looking one which is a source of power to sorcerers and powerful mystical entities like Dr. Second aspect is a Demon - looking one that empowers Juggernaut and which is titled as "His most destructive aspect". This title strongly refers that there are also other aspects of Cyttorak. And what's even more interesting, his most destructive was set free by monks who tried to summon Cyttorak to Earth again and this aspect was later imprisoned in the Crimson Ruby. So there is strong indication that aspects are sentient on there own. During Infinity War, Cyttorak commented that he actually prefers to be in a God-looking aspect. It was shown that after destructive aspect was imprisoned in the Ruby, Cyttorak himself transported the Ruby outside of the temple on occasions in order to find human avatars easier. Cyttorak participated in the Octessence , a wager between eight vastly powerful inter-dimensional beings who decided to find out which was the most powerful by giving a fraction of their power to eight human avatars that would fight in their honor. Each of them placed an item in their temples for someone to find, after the first item was found people would be magically drawn to the remaining seven.

When the Gem of Cyttorak returned, cyttorak, Cain was one of the people to hear its call. No other Exemplars would appear until years later, after the Juggernaut had clawed cyttorak way through the rubble, cyttorak, made his way to America, and battled the X-Men led by Xavier several times. The Exemplars moved to the North Pole to construct a new device.

Even in a universe filled with Asgardians, Eternals, Olympians and other self-proclaimed deities, some cosmic forces simply tower above the rest. While intergalactic powerhouses like the Phoenix Force and Galactus have been well-defined and fairly popular thanks to their appearances in hundreds of comics and TV shows, one of the Marvel Universe's strongest beings, Cyttorak, is still largely shrouded in mystery. Even though Cyttorak didn't actually appear until the s, his power has fueled the super-strong X-Men villain Juggernaut and been invoked by Doctor Strange since the s. While his presence has even been alluded to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the rarely-seen Cyttorak is one of Marvel's most potentially destructive threats. Now, CBR is going to take a closer look at Cyttorak through his history, his powers and his most famous earthly avatar, the unstoppable Juggernaut. Although his full origin still hasn't been revealed, Cyttorak is an ancient, powerful mystical deity who was exiled in another dimension called the Crimson Cosmos. From that dark universe, he's tried to spread destruction and chaos across the earthly word, usually through his avatar, the Juggernaut.

Marvel Comics secretly retconned the origin of Juggernaut , using the Black Knight 's battle with the God of Symbiotes to subtly redefine the antihero's demonic patron. He touched the legendary Crystal of Cyttorak, and was forevermore transformed into a human Juggernaut - a force of destruction whose role on Earth was to bring honor to Cyttorak's name. But Cain Marko was not the first Juggernaut. Cyttorak has had countless other avatars across the ages, who were granted his power to act on his behalf on Earth. Marko's predecessor was Jin Taiko, who served Cyttorak well for decades. But when Taiko's village began to worship another god, and Taiko refused to punish them for this affront, Cyttorak chose Marko to take his place. Like every Juggernaut before him , Cain's first task was to find his predecessor and kill him in battle. He accomplished this, proving himself worthy of the mantle of the Juggernaut, and as commanded his second mission was to destroy all trace of Taiko by burning his village to the ground and slaying every man, woman and child who lived there. This dark practice means that the history of Cyttorak's past Juggernauts is sparse and - as Black Knight later proved - woefully incomplete. Knull's narrative is concerned with revealing the dark truth behind Black Knight's powers - that the Ebony Blade actually draws power from the flaws of its wielder, and is given to the unworthy - the artwork confirms the identity of several Elder Gods: Shuma-Gorath, Moon Knight's Moon God Khonshu , and - perhaps most surprising of all - Cyttorak.

The learned Xavier recognized that the cave contained the Temple of Cyttorak. It was shown that after destructive aspect was imprisoned in the Ruby, Cyttorak himself transported the Ruby outside of the temple on occasions in order to find human avatars easier. Xavier telepathically helped Marko resist. Approximately one thousand years ago, a gathering of eight great magical beings took place. He started with using the ruby to blast Marko. This will likely increase the time it takes for your changes to go live. After becoming the host of the Phoenix Force , Colossus asked Cyttorak to release him just as he did with Cain when he began serving another. Jin Taiko was Cyttorak's avatar before Cain Marko. The small dose of his power, at its rarely-seen peak, that the Juggernaut wields can tear through the walls of reality and is supposedly strong enough to control the fabric of the universe. Marvel Database Explore. Cyttorak found a new avatar to become the Juggernaut named Hongdo Park , a Seoul worker who is on a losing streak and ready to try anything.

When the Skrulls invaded Otherworld to take its magic for themselves, Oberon decided to close all Doorways as to prevent the Skrulls from using Avalon as a bridgehead. Cyttorak created the Crimson Gem as his artifact and placed it in his temple in what would one day become Korea , guarded by a demon called Xorak. This Monster! When the Hulk attacked the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters , the Juggernaut contacted Cyttorak using ruby, promising to rampage and destroy once again if he gave him the power to reach the Hulk. This process takes no more than a few hours and we'll send you an email once approved. Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become forevermore a human juggernaut! This feat is not all that impressive though because the Phoenix Force has been driven away by a few members of X-Men and Ultra Force, and also that Cyttorak is absolutely omnipotent in his realm. Use your keyboard! He opened a magical portal and sent Marko there, but the Hulk beat him with ease. The fraction of his power given to the Juggernaut was stated by D'Spayre to be able to control the very fabric of the Universe Earth itself. Juggernaut's power was so heightened that he began shearing through dimensional boundaries. Jin Taiko was Cyttorak's avatar before Cain Marko.
