This farm is great for both returning players and beginners, as there are no outside requirements to be able to enter Scholomance , or professions required to obtain the Dark Runes. Dark Rune is a powerful raid consumable used by many classes who utilize Mana. Dark Runes can only be found in the Scholomance instance located in the Western Plaguelands. This farm is usable by every class, but it is considerably easier for those who can heal or have a pet to help tank some of the damage. There are many of these NPCs located very close to the entrance of the instance. When entering the Scholomance instance, Scholomance Dark Summoner s can be found in the first room to the left as soon as you walk down the staircase. Try your best to pull these one by one unless you are confident in your ability to handle multiple, as they spawn additional mobs that can deal a lot of damage if you do not deal with them quickly. If you continue further into the dungeon, the next room will be filled with packs of NPCs. There is a chance for packs to contain Scholomance Necromancer s, but this is not guaranteed, so you only need to kill the groups that do, as none of the other mobs except the Scholomance Dark Summoner s drop the Dark Rune s we are farming. In addition to the Dark Rune s, you will have a chance at looting some other items that can make this farm worth your time. The reset is at EU, but in fact you should always do dailies preferably before realm EU, turning in dailies after that time will make them done for the next day as well - this doesn't show right at the reset, but will happen when you log back in hours later, so you can still do them again right after the reset. I imagine a TBC version of these would likely be just as farmed and contested. It could be that Blizzard nerfed it because of bots, but it might be just a normal change for this phase too. It doesnt matter if you pull any additional mobs, they can't kill you. Comment by This is a werry hard item to get when you realy need it, you need 5 of them for the paladin epic mount q and they never drop once you need em, and the fue thats on AH sells for insane prices up to 40g sometimes. By the way, pallys are not the only ones who can use these; tailors and blacksmiths can use them too, for some rather nice recipes. To be safe, always keep only one Darkrune or none, not both plain and Crystalforged because you might not have time or remember to do the event again before the next daily reset. I was in a scholomance run where a spellcaster insisted that only spellcasters rolled on them. Being able to turn-in this quest is key to being able to Crystalforge a new Darkrune, so just getting rid of the bag is the single thing you need to do. PHASE 5.
