Dark souls late game weapons

A rare concession Dark Souls makes to players is that weapons don't become overshadowed or irrelevant as the game goes on. New loot is not necessarily stronger than old loot, it is simply able to do different things. When upgraded, nearly every weapon is viable from the very beginning of the game to the end. However, some Dark Souls weapons are more complex, less durable, or more challenging to find than others. Conversely, some weapons are well-suited for those still getting used to the game, with simple and broadly applicable movesets and no blatant weaknesses. Some choices are ideal for people setting foot in Dark Souls ' Lordran for the first time. Therefore, please do your own research before committing to any one build. I have seen countless "Best weapon" threads around the internet, and all of them were pretty inconclusive, so I decided to take it upon myself to find out what the REAL best weapon is. After HOURS of calculations, testing, and speed runs, I understood why these treads were inconclusive; the weapons are way too different from one another to even compare them. But, I still didnt give up. I divided the weapons in different categories according to their speed and damage.

I'm lvl 74 right now and I don't really know whats a good weapon I should be going for. With stat scaling and upgrades I have no idea how to get the best weapon for me. Now I'm realizing i can't handle how slow the strong weapons are so I've started investing into dex. So I'm 36 endurance, 33 strength and 25 dex. I've been liking the Silver Knight Sword but I hear it's not a great weapon because it has mediocre scaling. So what weapon should I start looking for? Alternatively, a Halberd, Black Knight variety or otherwise, fully upgraded also works. Also, there's the claymore, which is a great sword, and thus attacks faster than the Ultra Great class weapons you were experimenting with. Lastly, get your int to 25 and purchase Crystal magic weapon from Logan in the Duke's Archives if you go with a fully upgraded normal weapon. The benefits of normal weapons like Long Swords over special weapons like the Gravelord Sword is that they can be upgraded to a higher level, and more importantly, can be enchanted with buffing spells.

Weapons are a very strategic and important choice for the player in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. The player is encouraged to discover and learn the playstyle of weapon that suits their style of play and preference, with subtle parameters affecting the weapon's performance in combat. A player will be able to dedicate themselves to mastering one weapon, and expect to perform well regardless of the choice.

Can i just add my 2 cents? Actually this isn't true, only for the spear. I'm putting all of my souls into endurance 40 right now and vitality 30 right now. Although it's also heavier iirc. This weapon is the last thing most new players see as they descend that fated, curved stairway leading to where a warrior in Havel's set awaits. The Demon's Greataxe may have short range but is swung surprisingly fast for its size and weight. Ultimately, the Claymore is another good all-rounder weapon. That thing cleaves through just about anyone. In addition, it inflicts bleed damage that can suddenly take out a chunk of an enemy's health bar, helping to introduce new players to Dark Souls' status effects. That would be a waste. Now I'm sad.
