The book starwars. To me it justified a lot of the problems the prequels had by fleshing them out and giving them great explanations. It is very unfortunate that the story is part of Legends instead of canon, however, a lot of it has indeed made it back into canon thanks to people like the original author starwars. Like my Darth Bane Trilogy post, I will do this by listing things from the novel that have been made canon. A lot of this information came from starwars. It's clear that he wanted his magnum opus to be as canon as possible, and I'm glad he did this. I've no doubt that more things like him being a Muun will be canon again, but we'll just have to wait and see. As many of you know, I consider Legends to be literally legends within Canon. And by having them as legends, it adds an extra dimension of mystery to their history. We know that some elements of those stories had first hand support from starwars. And I hope we never really find out what those things actually were. To get back onto the 'mystery' element that I'm referring to It's no different than the mystery of the starwars. It exists and we know some things about it.

It offers a pretty good overview of exactly what was going on behind the scenes and what the Grand Plan was, darth plagueis book, and it reads like a detailed history darth plagueis book of the events of the period. It's less action oriented, and instead focuses more on political intrigue. It was Hego Damask as Darth Plagueis who came to Naboo, determined to suck the planet dry of plasma and set the Trade Federation up as its overseers.

In Darth Plagueis , those questions are finally answered. For fans interested in learning more about the Sith and their intricate Grand Plan to bring down the Republic and the Jedi, Darth Plagueis adds some intriguing and disturbing depth to the backstory of the Prequel Trilogy. The front cover art sets the tone for the book: a younger Palpatine kneeling in subservience to the looming visage of an alien. Unlike the movies, or the Expanded Universe books and comics before now, this is not a tale of Darth Sidious as puppetmaster pulling the strings of galactic events or terrifying autocrat. Instead, we see the first real glimpses of Palpatine as a pupil or cautious low-level politician — someone who is even, on occasion, vulnerable.

Star Wars has undergone many changes since Disney acquired Lucasfilm in The Expanded Universe soldiered on for over thirty years and was the only source of new Star Wars content until when The Phantom Menace premiered. These novels, comic books, and video games developed a rabid fanbase, one that, to this day, feels like its content is worthwhile. Lucasfilm de-canonized a lot of stories to create a new canon. This was a prudent move - no one could expect casual Star Wars fans to experience all the post- Return Of The Jedi content to understand what was happening. Lucasfilm has used many concepts and ideas from Legends, but they could easily go further. There are plenty of great Star Wars stories that aren't canon but easily could be canonized, introducing a whole new audience to their brilliance. The point was to flesh out the Clone Wars before the next movie, and it contained novels, comics, video games, and Star Wars: Clone Wars , a "micro-series" of animated shorts from Genddy Tartakovsky. There are a lot of great stories from this period, but the best of the bunch was easily Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover.

Not only does it take place around the time of Phantom Menace , but it also gives an excellent window into the events of the movie as well as what led up to them. The amount of summary in the latter third of the book does slow the story down and make it seem less interesting. This book goes back and provides the background information to Revenge of the Sith obviously, however it uses info from Darth Maul books and comic series, a brief mention of Jungo Fett's comic series, and even season 3 of Clone Wars to be resolved in season 4. Where is the horror and the fear? The book had major pacing issues. I didn't mind the slow pace; I didn't mind the politicking; I didn't mind the passage of time. Some other authors have been bold enough to invent names for elements like "Coruscant", "Jaina Solo", etc The Muun tells his Bith Master that he will put an end to the old order of the Rule of Two before breaking Tenebrous's neck and observing his dying body through the Force in an attempt to manipulate midi-chlorians. I definitely wasn't disappointed. But not an especially interesting one. Darth Plagueis novel Wookieepedia. What a disappointing Empire Strikes Back that would have been. It starts off with Plagueis killing his Master, Darth Tenebrous and ends with his death at the hands of Darth Sidious.

As the novel comes to a close during the events of The Phantom Menace , Sidious and Plagueis learn that a young boy named Anakin Skywalker , a former slave found by Qui-Gon Jinn on Tatooine , had been born of the Force. Wow, that's not confusing at ALL. The book had major pacing issues. Want to read. But the biggest part in Darth Sidious's plan is young Anakin Skywalker, now a Padawan to Obi-Wan Kenobi , who the Sith sees will be easily manipulated into becoming his true apprentice, and a harbinger of Palpatine's own power. Goodreads Choice Award. In the meantime, Plagueis tracks down the other Force-users that Venamis had met in order to determine whether or not they pose a threat to his plans. I found the narrative pace and plot to be inconsistent but the character development made the book worthwhile. Apparently this Star Wars novel had been highly anticipated since its announcement years ago, and I had no idea until after I finished it and decided to look it up. The Palpatine of the original trilogy was a master manipulator and always knew with sickening accuracy exactly where to jab. In the end I found it to be a wash, neither improving or detracting from my overall enjoyment of the book.
