Dive center utila

Utila is a small island off the coast of Honduras in the Caribbean. I must say that it took me a while to warm up to Utila. I had imagined Utila as a remote Caribbean island with beautiful beaches. The reality was lots of noisy traffic, garbage in the streets and old American architecture. It took me a day or two to get comfortable in Utila and then, I fell in love with it more and more each day. Despite being a tourist hotspot, the majority of the island is just nature. Utila has an airport that receives national flights from major cities in Honduras, and also a ferry port. Most people arrive to the island by ferry, either from La Ceiba or from the bigger neighboring island Roatan. There are two ways to get from San Pedro Sula to Utila. You can either fly there, or you take a bus to La Ceiba and then a ferry to Utila. This is how you get from San Pedro Sula to Utila by public transport:. It takes about 4 hours to get to La Ceiba and you will make a 20 minute stop in Tela where you can get lunch.

Come with us and enjoy the largest part of our fascinating planet. We have two Instructor Trainers on staff which coordinate and oversee all dive training and dive certifications. At Tank'd Pro Dive Center, we don't teach in large groups like other dive centers. Instead, we keep our classes to 4 students or less to offer you a safe and pleasurable experience.

During this course, one of our Instructors will guide you during 5 open water specialty dives of your choice. The course also emphasizes the importance of directly observing and managing the physiological effects of deeper scuba diving, safety considerations, and potential challenges. This training equips divers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the underwater world with increased confidence and competence, preparing them for new adventures in the deep blue. You'll learn how to navigate using a compass, natural landmarks and by estimating distances underwater. This training involves exercises to familiarize you with the challenges and peculiarities of underwater orientation, like learning to estimate distance underwater, navigate different search patterns, find your way to marking points, and return to the exit point. The course promotes the mastery of advanced navigation techniques, enabling you to increase your confidence, improve your underwater orientation skills and enhance your overall diving experience. By the end of this course, you'll feel more in control and confident in your diving explorations, adding more fun and safety to your dives. This course introduces you to the magic of drifting with the current, feeling the sensation of flying underwater while the sea's motion does the work. You will learn about drift dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, and potential hazards, as well as how to use and maintain specialized drift diving equipment like floats, lines, and reels. You'll also learn proper procedures for buoyancy-control, navigation and communication, and techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group as you float with the current.
