I was going to get both of these games at some point but is there a difference between the two? Or are they basically the same? I'm assuming the storylines are different. Do I need to change the settings in the eshop to play imported games to that specific region or does that matter to play? Barbiegurl : With respect to imported games, you don't need to change your region or anything like that. Most do, but a small minority don't. Also bear in mind that an overseas release of a physical game may not support the DLC of your region's equivalent of the game, and therefore you may need the appropriate overseas account to access any such DLC. Again, such situations will be in the extreme minority, and with any luck, you shouldn't come across it at all, but it's just something to consider. The good news is that you do not need a specific region account in order to download software updates. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'? About the differences, well quite obviously one game has the doraemon license, and the other one does not. I was kinda surprised it took Marv this long to decide to do remakes of games, and this was a great one to start with even if I'm a diehard "HM64 cast is way better! This is why I was so curious if the new one later this year would actually come out on ps4 as well.

After being pleasantly surprised by the adorable Story of Seasons Doraemon spin-off, I couldn't wait to dive into the next Switch game in the franchise which just happens to be this remake of a classic. Some of the best titles to come out have been those released in recent years under the Story of Seasons branding. Trio of Towns was a blast and as I played it, I found myself constantly discovering new things to do. As I mentioned, even the recent Doraemon Story of Seasons was a ton of fun and it featured impressive graphics although it was a little rough around the edges. This Switch remake bears many similarities to the previous versions; so much so that you can follow a guide for an earlier version and use it to get your bearings quite easily which I actually did.

It was something incredibly different for my tastes at the time, and yet I probably put hundreds of hours into a couple of playthroughs. Harvest Moon has gone through an identity crisis as well, splitting into two halves under the new name Story of Seasons. But whatever its name, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is every inch the game that I was so smitten with long ago. Thankfully, it does include some quality-of-life changes and modernized touches beyond the obvious facelift. Potential romantic suitors can be romanced regardless of your gender, which you can choose freely at the outset without needing to buy a separate version of the game.

They can't be stock characters, pulled out of the rickety-from-overuse trope drawer, which is how the Olive Town characters felt to me. Of course, I beat it and had fun with it, but I struggle to pick it up again when my whole day is spent being on my farm whether it's collecting animal products, cleaning up the farm, or putting items in the makers. Early Bokumono games, though very simple, had a charm that helped them stand out on their own. It might be nostalgia again, like the Friends of Mineral Town remake, but I played the originals a lot as a kid, although I never finished the originals, because as a kid, I thought even the Girl Version was too long. I find them very disappointing, getting less to my liking the more I look into them it seems, so I've looked to elsewhere for farming games. I like both games for different reasons. Barbiegurl They're part of the same series, and some characters from the 3DS games are available as paid dlc, but it's not directly related to any of the 3DS games, story-wise. Change language. As soon as I started having to deal with the makers, I took a critical look at the game, and it just reeked of low-effort, mobile rubbish. As for the Harvest Moon games, I haven't played the newer ones at all. Natsume: I haven't played any of their new in-house HM games, and apologies to the people who really like them, but when I watch pretty in-depth videos of the games the gameplay looks terrible so I don't think I'd ever bother purchasing a HM game unless it's more in tune with its competitors.
