It never made any sense. We know that the Grey Warden Order is much larger and has leadership in other countries. Choosing the Grey Warden over Hawke is pointless because there is always someone else in the Order, whose even higher ranking than them, to take over the Orliasian branch if need be. Heck, if the WC is alive they could take over or send a second-in-command to take over. Not to mention that even if you choose the Grey Warden they still differ to you and even if they're dead the Grey Warden's still leave or fight for you no matter what despite "lack of leadership". While Hawke is the Champion of Kirkwall, possibly Viscount of Kirkwall, considered a rallying point for the Rebellion for both sides, is widely known as a Hero and is pretty popular even after the Kirkwall stuff due to Legendary feats like the Arishok stuff, and was even a Candidate to run the Inquisition. Not to mention that Hawke also has "old friends" who could provide more for the Inquisition especially when you consider that the Grey Wardens will leave or follow you even if you chose Hawke while Hawke's companions, other than Varric, have no reason to go out of their way for the Inquisition if you killed Hawke while with Hawke alive they have a valid reason for getting involved.
Just so it's been said, the "feeling of glory" should obviously be changed to "sense of honor" or something along those lines.
Is it just me, or is Alistair's character box now weirdly squished? Loleil , 5 June UTC. It is. I'm not sure what to do about it though I did some retooling that seems to have fixed the problem.
Varric has a friend named Hawke , who fought Corypheus once before and now fears Grey Wardens are under the influence of the ancient darkspawn. Hawke has a Warden contact who may be able to say more. The quest plays out across several locations in Thedas. The Inquisitor must meet Varric on top of Skyhold's battlements to be introduced. Varric's friend is Hawke , the former Champion of Kirkwall. Hawke informs the Inquisitor of having an ally among the Grey Wardens that has more information on the nature of Corypheus and his plans. The Warden ally is currently in hiding, in Crestwood , and the Inquisitor should travel to meet him. The Inquisitor must select the war table operation Find the Warden to unlock and travel to Crestwood. The village of Crestwood turns out to be besieged by the undead.

Jean-Marc Stroud was born the younger son of a minor noble family in the Fields of Ghislain. He received word that his family had been killed shortly after completing his training at the Academie des Chevaliers. Although the culprits were made out to be bandits, Stroud's family were actually the victims of the Grand Game. Before Stroud could seek revenge against his family's murderers, his trainers at the Academie urged a Grey Warden , one Clarel de Chanson , to recruit him to stop him from throwing his life away. Unable to refuse Clarel's request honorably, Stroud joined the Wardens. In the following decades, Warden Stroud served the Grey Wardens with honor. Stroud earned a reputation as the finest swordsman in the Grey Warden Order, combining his study at the Academie with years of fighting darkspawn alongside dwarves in the Deep Roads. He has been tasked with recruiting and training new Wardens, and many young Wardens attribute their skill to Stroud's training. Due to his family history, Stroud limits his travels to the Free Marches to avoid being caught up in the Game and thereby spare the Wardens from accusations of interfering in Orlesian politics.

I still hope Ali has another long lost borther. Loghain was a fool, he destroyed most of fereldans defenses because of his selfish ambition and he deserves death. I'm not sure Kieran should be listed in the family section of the infobox. But the problem remains that it is just speculation. Pvpgirl , March 30, UTC. And why is Alister heir before Cailan? More Topics from this Board. If you are female you can also select at that point to rule beside him. So which one is correct? Shouldn't his name be Alistair Theirin, since he's of the Theirin bloodline? Arl Eamon raised him to the throne because he was literally the last living possessor of Theirin blood; then and only then did Eamon suddenly seem to think that Alistair might have value: before that was the case, Alistair was just a nameless bastard. Alistair's codex in the game says "Maric sheltered the boy to hide his existence from Queen Rowan, Maric's wife, on the advice of his friend Loghain Mac Tir.
