The man, 32, who was allegedly linked to both properties, was subsequently arrested and charged with five offences relating to the cash and drugs found at the warrants. He was later granted bail by the Perth Magistrates Court. The investigation also led to ABF officers in Perth intercepting another consignment on 5 April, which they suspected was imported by the same man. Packets labelled as curry sauce allegedly instead contained a total of about g of cocaine. The substances were seized for further forensic examination. The man was arrested and charged with the seven additional offences, including the alleged importation of the three cocaine consignments. AFP Inspector Matt Taylor said the AFP was committed to working with partners to ensure people could not profit from exploiting the wider community through the illicit drug trade. Australian Border Force has intercepted 77 kilograms of heroin concealed in air cargo crates bound for an address in the southern Perth suburb of Bibra Lake. Following a tip off from Taiwanese Customs, ABF officers went to an air cargo depot in Perth on May 28 where they seized three large crates purporting to contain industrial equipment. Those crates were x-rayed and the contents, including a large industrial oven, were dismantled, revealing packages of heroin, inside one crate and 88 inside another. Police secretly replaced the heroin with a fake substance, and the shipment was delivered to a warehouse in Bibra Lake last week. Officers patiently watched the property for seven days until two men arrived, entered the warehouse, and left carrying black duffel bags. The men were later intercepted driving in convoy with two men in another car. All four were arrested and charged with attempting to possess border-controlled drugs.
