Needless to say, as with all serious tube amps, the overall sound and feel of that amp can vary depending on the tubes you load it with, your guitar output and anything between your guitar and the amp. Marshall JCM I don't know whether or not that is a common Sovtek character, or maybe they just don't pair well with that amp.
