The ability to control all the settings such as lawn coverage, drive past wire etc are a definite improvement in the latest version. However, having to go through the entire set up process each time the app starts up makes it unusable. With the previous poorly featured version I could at least use it from the house to see if our mower had made it home and was charging in the evening and could check in to see when it was next due out. I can no longer do this without going into the garden to turn the mower off and in again in order to activate the Bluetooth discoverability - this obviously makes the app useless and needs to be fixed. Previously the app stayed connected to the mowers Bluetooth between app restarts. It no longer does. The original app did a job and worked in its basic format on my iPhone.

As with any robot lawn mower, there is some initial set up work to do, which does take some time and a fair bit of patience. We lived with the Flymo Easilife for over a month to see how it fared on our 60m2 lawn. After the huge popularity of their original robot lawn mower, Flymo launched their new range of Easilife robot lawn mowers in with new features and added smarts. Overall, the Easilife is an excellent pick for small or medium-sized lawns. It keeps your grass neatly trimmed between mm and requires little intervention other than hosing it down occasionally. The mower has some smart features and on-board sensors that help it plan mowing schedules around weather, avoiding rain and frost which can result in poor cuts. As with most robot mowers, the Easilife uses a perimeter wire to navigate your garden. The mower is ideal for odd-shaped gardens thanks to a separate guide wire and PassageSense technology that helps the mower find hard-to-reach areas and narrow passages. One of the features worth shouting about is the app control which allows you to set schedules and change modes from the Flymo Easilife app.
