Hi everyone! Be sure to watch the tutorial below for all the details!! In the video tutorial above there are products used that were sent to me free of charge for design purposes. This is a technique that you need to play around with and figure out what works best for you and your supplies. But let me tell you what works for me so you at least have a starting point! I use the sandwich in my Big Shot that is meant for wafer thin dies.

This is a great way to stretch your supplies and add that extra something-something to your handmade card designs. Watch here or in HD on YouTube. Dry embossing with stencils is one of my favorite techniques to add a tone on tone texture and pattern to clean and simple cards. You need an embossing pad to dry emboss with stencils. I recommend practicing on scrap cardstock until you find the correct sandwich. My heat embossing is cleaner when I dry emboss the cardstock too. The embossing ink goes on the raised positive pattern more uniformly with crisp edges. When the ink is spread onto the stencil and impressed into the negative spaces with a die-cut machine the result is clean and detailed.

If you do make a mistake, remember you can scrape off the paste with a putty knife, wipe the stencil and reuse the paste. Once you have practiced a few sections of the stencil and are comfortable with your results, you should be ready to begin. Determine area to be stenciled. Stencil Paste and Crackle Paste can be applied to almost any surface except oily surfaces. Carefully cut desired section from the stencil using scissors.
