We interviewed writer, director, and star Erin to hear a little more about how this film came to be, and her path as a filmmaker. It was such a pleasure. The festival was beautifully run with some fantastic films, and to receive a special mention was a real honour. Did you enjoy the Lift-Off experience, and meeting some of the other filmmakers also screening? Then to be able to speak to them after and share our processes and experiences was so enlightening. I love it. Imagista: Is it very different from living in Whales? Erin Richards: I think New York would be a big change from anywhere in the world. It is the most vibrant exciting city I think I have ever been in. It is definitely a step up, I find New York is kind of the most European city from anywhere else I have been in America. There are definitely some similarities to home, which is nice and comforting. I have never lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn is much more my taste. Erin Richards: I have been acting since I was a kid. A lot of my childhood was acting somewhere. I used to do a lot of plays when I was little and put them on for my family. I started dance lessons and did theater in school but I did not really have the belief in myself as an actor until I got a bit older.

The Welsh star of the entertainment industry, Erin Richards first came into the limelight through her performances in the popular TV series like Breaking In and Gotham. The on-screen professional acting career of her began in the mids through short films and minor television gigs. A few years into her career, Erin finally landed her big-break with a main cast role in the season 2 of hit TV series, Breaking In. Later, the year proved to be a major breakthrough point in her acting career, as she starred in the hit horror flick The Quiet Ones and also began portraying the character of Barbara Kean in the DC Comics TV series, Gotham. She series aired for a total of five seasons and her character remained a key role throughout its run.
