Then they kind of just go with it as they try to explain what the hell is going on as it goes along.

The main protagonist, he finds himself thrust into the conflict with the Secrets after a run in with Gazelle leads him to the Nirvash. From there he begins piloting it to save his island home. And he's not taking it well being the owner of the Quartz Gun. I had to spend quite a hefty amount to get the entire series on Blu-Ray from Japan, one of the many perks of a region free PS3. The series has a lot of interesting ideas and twists that come from out of nowhere and give completely different turns to what the plot was before. I mean, back with Un-Go, that was a series that had perfect control of its fast pacing. Ao does not, and there are quite a few plot holes. On the other hand though, there are plenty of moments that might seem ludicrous, only to make sense when you start thinking about it.

The fact that Ao has saved the island twice by this point might have motivated that change in attitude. This may be explained by her Scub Coral infection and the Nirvash being alive, which together might let her fly it without the needed skill.
