This is a mandatory step for any crossbow, and ideally you should apply a new layer of wax for every 5 to 10 arrows fired. Better be safe and stick only to lubricants made by the manufacturer of your crossbow. Then I'll just do as XB did and pattern my reticle marks with a good rangefinder. Four field points tips for the arrows are supplied as well for target practice, which weigh grain each. Probably original to the bow. That ought to pick me up a few fps.
