Synopsis Netflix. I think I was able to finish this within 2 days because I was so entranced by the premise! I rarely watch teen shows nowadays but this one was a great exception! I also love the visuals of this show, both in terms of the cinematography and the set. I found this concept really fresh for K-dramas. I knew Extraordinary You had gained a good buzz when it was on-air, but I was too busy to pay attention that time. I like that the show explained these concepts really well. Eun Dan Oh was totally easy to love! But upon gaining her ego, she finds a way to change her fate. I have to admit Baek Kyung was so hard to like. His character was intended to be rude and indifferent towards Dan Oh since their engagement is more of a business partnership between their fathers. Haru Rowoon though… where can I get my own Haru?

After watching the drama Tomorrow , I was on a massive Rowoon kick. As a recap, this was all sparked by my friend I was visiting in New York. When we were on a bus to Flushing, she was raving about Rowoon and how she binged watched all of Extraordinary You in two days, and I had waved her off. Then, when I got back home later in the weekend, I ended up binging Tomorrow. That led me to purchase a Viki subscription for the month to watch all of Extraordinary You because she was raving about it and then I remembered I had heard other people raving about it before. And that, my friends, is how I ended up binge watching all thirty-two episodes of Extraordinary You in two days. The story of Extraordinary You is set inside of a prestigious high school for wealthy students, and the main character of the drama is Eun Dan-oh.

That is, until a mysterious male student appears and changes her fate. Thanks to Dan Oh, the originally nameless extra now has a name. But with a name comes consequences. As per Dried Squid Fairy, giving a name to a background extra can only lead to disaster. While at first he resigns to staying in his corner, Ha Roo eventually decides to follow his heart, even if it means paying a steep price. After Baek Kyung stands Dan Oh up on their movie date though he does call to cancel, so…progress? And in an important development, Baek Kyung rushes to the theater all jealous to see Dan Oh and Ha Roo hanging out together, even though his intended story line was obviously to desert Dan Oh at the theater. After a trip to the hospital, Dan Oh returns to school to discover that Ha Roo has gone missing. Other than Do Hwa and Baek Kyung who is also now self-aware , no one remembers a student named Ha Roo, and his seat as well as his number are now occupied by someone else.
