We put their gravel bike, the Secan 2. Read on to find out how it fares! We all have those moments and experiences after which nothing is the same as it was before. Things happen that throw us completely off the track and fundamentally change our entire outlook and actions from then on. But for us, hopelessly lost bike enthusiasts, it can simply be the first ride on a bike we long lusted for or the mere sight of one that leaves us stunned. A bike that encompasses everything that we love and appreciate about this hobby — bordering on a calling — and attitude to life: limitless possibilities and freedom, aesthetics and form, adventures and distant lands, daily means of transport and faithful companionship … The list could go on forever.
The Holt is our first mountain bike and it is unashamedly XC. The bike is designed to be fast and efficient, with class leading compliance and comfort. Compliance, traction, agility, zip, snap, grip, flow — these are the feels we want from a steel frame. The frame is designed to run with a mm travel fork and has clearance with mud room! Alternatively you could build it up with a rigid fork, a rear rack and a set of dynamo lighting to make the perfect dirt tourer. We are making this frame in our European factory and the quality of the fabrication is testament to their experience and craft. The lookbook and the deatiled design notes are all linked below, they contain all the information you need. Click the button below to see our up to date UK pricelist and upgrade options:. Sadly with the road salt it will go into the basement till Spring. Cons - Maybe a little heavy, but that's it. The Strael was its first bike, released in , and as the pampered firstborn, it is still the one that takes design priority, with developments being handed down to its three siblings in the range: the Secan, the Faran and the Holt. The seatpost, too, is round. Steel bikes have had something of a resurgence in the last few years as riders move back towards what was for many years thought of as an outdated material. I'm not a great cyclist by any stretch, and this is the best bicycle I've ever owned. Got a second wheelset with 32mm 'road' tires for longer road rides when I want to think I'm fast. News, features, offers, competitions and events. Tops high level of comfort balanced handling great design with beautiful details highest-quality workmanship very versatile thanks to the dynamo hub, you no longer have to worry about empty batteries. See the complete geometry table for the Fairlight Holt below. GRX Di2 is hard to beat, and the finishing kit is sensible without being needlessly bling. For me though, the number of real-world scenarios where this setup came into its own were few and far between. Forgotten Password? For racers looking for every last bit of advantage competitiveness? Three-bottle cages are a must for any bike with bikepacking ambitions. The heat treating essentially makes the steel stronger for a given wall thickness, but the same can be said of any frameset. While the additional squish of massive tyres certainly helps, you do get slightly better rollover with c to offset this.
