Y'all do realize that Lucius' overall magic-kit allows for him to possibly subordinate Zeref to his side should he so desire This is essentially a 2v Acno is there to say no too. Both Acno and Zeref got time and space magic I'm pretty sure. Plus we seen Acno eat RoT which means he wasn't affected by it. I'm not seeing how that would really help Zeref's situation much Lucius really only needs to touch him once?

Acnologia's preferred appearance is that of his human form, which is that of a rather muscular young man with long, dark blue-colored hair. He carries a sharp gaze; his eyes have black circles around them. He is dark-skinned, and on his body he bears the same light blue markings he does when he is a Dragon.
