The Provincial Health Services Authority has confirmed a fake nurse who worked in a surgical unit at B. The agency says in its response to the lawsuit that some claims of injury or improper care by Cleroux contain inaccurate information or conjecture, and that the claims by five representative patients vary so widely in their allegations of malpractice that they should not be judged together as part of a class action. Cleroux was arrested by Vancouver police in November on charges related to fraudulently using the name of a registered nurse while being employed by B. Cleroux was sent to jail for seven years in April after being convicted on similar charges in Ottawa, including assault, assault with a weapon, fraud and impersonation. She had used the name of a real nurse in Vancouver to get hired there at a fertility clinic and dental surgery clinic.

Charrybelle Talaue is accused of making a variety of fake ID, including a a bogus marriage certificate, Alberta personal health card and certificate of Canadian citizenship. Central Saanich police allege Talaue then used the documents to pose as someone named Yves Anglehart in an attempt to apply for a nursing job with Island Health. The health authority contacted police, who launched an investigation that resulted in her arrest. Police said the B. By December , Cleroux was allegedly suspended from work for a day in response to another list of complaints, including loudly saying she wanted to "punch or hit" a colleague in the face, using force to straighten a patient's arm while applying a blood pressure cuff, and being "physically and verbally inappropriate" with another patient while inserting an intravenous line. Despite all this — and despite the fact she had no actual nursing credentials — Cleroux worked at the hospital for another six months after the suspension. The PHSA response denies liability for Cleroux's actions, but reveals several new allegations of inappropriate behaviour during her time in the Vancouver hospital's Post Anesthetic Care Unit between June 22, , and June 23, According to the response, Cleroux's deception was only discovered in June after more complaints about her unprofessional and aggressive behaviour toward patients and colleagues. Cleroux, 50, has a long criminal history across the country, including 67 convictions as an adult, and has pretended to be a nurse or school teacher in at least four provinces and two U. She is currently awaiting trial in Vancouver for fraud and personation in relation to her activities at B. Women's Hospital, and prosecutors have said an investigation is underway into further allegations of assault.
