During the investigation it was determined that a motorcyclist was headed westbound on Lomas Boulevard approaching Louisiana. A four door sedan was traveling eastbound on Lomas and was making a northbound turn onto Louisiana. The sedan turned in front of the motorcyclist causing the motorcycle to T-Bone the sedan. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained significant injuries. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition, however and later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the sedan remained on scene and did provide statements to the primary motor officer. This investigation is ongoing and at this time it does not appear alcohol was a factor for the crash. It does appear speed from the motorcycle and improper driving was a factor for the crash.
