In a true turnaround of events, the Ruin content has not only given players a reason to return to Security Breach , but also a host of reasons to get excited for whatever game comes next. Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach has a different play style compared to most of its predecessors. Players take the role of Gregory, a boy who's been trapped inside Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex overnight, and he finds that there are several mysteries hiding there. In Ruin, however, players take on the role of Cassie, a young girl and best friend of Gregory who is on a mission to save him. Ruin takes place sometime after the events of FNAF: Security Breach, with new protagonist Cassie entering the remains of the Mega Pizzaplex which has - according to the local press - been destroyed by an earthquake. Once inside, Cassie finds reason to believe that her friend Gregory is trapped inside the ruins, and it becomes her mission to find and free him.

The reveal came in the form of a spectacularly creepy new trailer on developer Steel Wool Studios' official YouTube channel. The trailer, which you can view in full below, contains a lot of scenes that will seem somewhat familiar to those who've already played through the main Security Breach storyline, although with the added scare factor of the enemy animatronics looking even worse-for-wear than usual. Instead of young Gregory, the player will assume the role of a girl named Cassie, who's on a mission to rescue him. While the audio plays a distress message from Gregory explaining that he's trapped inside the Pizzaplex, we get intermittent images of Roxanne Wolf now missing most of her face in addition to just her eyes; Glamrock Chica stumbling around with no left arm to speak of, and Montgomery Gator's fully exposed endoskeleton snapping its enormous jaws at the player. Even battered fan-favorite daycare attendant Sun makes an appearance, waving playfully at the camera. The most critical piece of information, though, comes at the very end of the trailer, when it reveals a release window of July While there's a lot of familiar faces in the trailer — although they're in a much worse state of disrepair and decay than Gregory left them in the Security Breach main game — one sight that still has some unknown elements is Glamrock Freddy. Although Freddy Fazbear had always been a menacing threat to the player in previous entries in the series, Security Breach took a different approach, removing most of the supernatural hauntings that normally plague the animatronics and having Freddy actually serve as a lovable protector to our plucky young protagonist. What appears to be a Freddy exoskeleton pops up around the second mark of the video below, seeming to activate and lurch towards Cassie's first-person view, although we don't get to see any instances of him trying to help or harm her, so it's unclear just what his role will be this time around.
