These individuals are just going on with their merry little lives trying to get good pay as with Wario trying to open up his restaurant for his business ; however, they are all stalked by the ghosts of classic Nintendo characters and eventually get involved in a potential murder case. Your goal, as in every FNaF game, is to survive, as the story progresses through various phone calls. Each character has different ways to fend off the phantoms in each game. As the series progresses, the characters get more and more exposed to the fiends. The first game had the classic doors from the first Five Nights at Freddy's or one door and a window, in this case , the second one has no doors, and you have to hide in a generator room to keep yourself alive. The third game has the character fend for himself and have to move rooms and use different techniques each night, thankfully given to you by the grateful phone calls. The last three games has you roam around the respective locations or browsing the TV channels, in the case of 4 while avoiding or dealing with the enemies using a variety of tools.
