Constructors are people or corporate entities which design key parts of Formula One cars that have competed or are intended to compete in the FIA World Championship. Sinceit has been a requirement that each competitor must have the exclusive rights to the formula 1 constructors standings of certain key parts of their car; inthese parts were the survival cell, the front impact structure, formula 1 constructors standings, the roll structures and bodywork. Ferrari holds the record for the highest number of World Constructors' Championships victories, having won the title on 16 occasions. Williams is in second position with nine Constructors' Championships and McLaren and Mercedes are in third with eight titles.
